Ute Torque....
Guess I should write a few lines about myself, seeing as though I haven't properly introduced myself. Think the 2 people who have read this already know me?! I'm gonna remain nameless tho', Utegirl is a nice 'nuff name...... 34 years young, female(duh),married to Magnaboy!,live in wine growing country, own 1 horse,1 dog, 1 cat, 4 bugies(numerous egg's),have 4 brothers who are older than me, have 2 nephews,4 nieces & 2 best friends. Have 13 year old daughter, but never see her- haven't seen her for 3 years. Long story, will tell you one day, maybe. I grew up in the Mid North of SA, spent most of my life in the country, and will remain a ladyboy at heart forever. When I was 13 I moved to Adelaide with my Old's, hated it.....but had no choice. Ran away from home at 15 to Sydney, got into some right old botha, got into drugs, street life & was led astray by a gorgeous German guy old enuf to be my father. I adored him, he adored me too- adored me to earn $$$ for him workin' the streets. Was picked up by cops, put in a kid's home & told to find my own way back home to Adelaide. Parents none to pleased, so went to live with Eldest bro & sis 'n law for while. Next 3 years spent getting stoned, drunk & into lotsa mischief basically. Funny that I don't recall a lot of it! In 1988 I started a course with TAFE, a job entry training thingy- where you sort of go back and learn sleep assault you forgot in school. It was in August of that year that I met my future husband. Love at first sight. We've been together ever since, and married for 14 years. Of course no marriage is perfect, and ours has been a rocky relationship. We are best friends tho', and that's a start in any relationship. We have lived where we are now for 5 years, and love it here. I can go riding among the vines safely without worrying about traffic and the freedom and space is devine. We watch the coming seasons of the vines, from bare tangled canes, to the onset of spring with tiny green buds. Summer is not so bad when you gaze out upon the evergreen leaves of the grapes, when all else is brown & tired. Harvest time is an exciting time for our household, the animals get to eat as much grapes as they like!! Only the best Shiraz for the horse & dog!! We often awake in the middle of the night in summer to the sound of the mechanical harvesters ploughing their way thru the vines, grape juice abounds! It's never a dull time in grape country. Right now the berries are just setting on the bunches, and it's hard to believe that in as little as two months, they will be ready for havrest. What the heck, I'm gonna give Ballaststone Estate Winery a plug here, and get you guys to check out their delightful products! Also check out their second winery, Currency Creek Estate Wines. Til next time.......Utegirl...xx
